Hi !!!
I `m here in El Yaque one month and This month in El Yaque was only rain!!!! I was only five times on the water, this weather is really crazy !!!!! but i`m waiting all the time in El Yaque at the moment to take my material and have fun on the water !!! and yesterday was day on the water.. was a really good time with a lot of rain jajaja ...... but was really good time ... the warm water and the friends .. was perfect two hour, for my 4,5 ice and skate 90.. I love my board and I like my sail...perfect for this condition...
The next days the forecast looks really good ..rain a more rain jajaja and many clouds .. but no worrent I`m happy here at home

Hola!

Estoy aquí en El Yaque un mes y este mes en El Yaque ha sido solo la lluvia!! Yo he estado solo cinco veces en el agua, este clima esta muy loco !!!!! pero yo estoy esperando todo el tiempo en El Yaque el momento de tomar mi material y divertirse en el agua! y ayer fue el día de entrar de nuevo al agua !!!!!!! Fue un tiempo realmente bueno con una gran cantidad de lluvia jajaja ...... pero fue muy divertido con el agua caliente y los amigos , estuvo perfecto por dos horas, para mi 4,5 Ice y Skate de 90L .. Me encanta mi tabla y me gusta mi vela ... perfecta para este tiempo ...

Los proximos días el pronostico se ve muy bien , lluvia y mas lluvia jajaja y muchas nubes .. pero no hay problema estoy feliz aquí en casa ...

After long time i am back home !! that is so good and placent , the wind is very light and at the night some rain, but i am happy to be back at home and see my family and enjoying my house and the time on the water... yesterday was a great windsurf day, i have been on the water with my 5,0 and 90 liter and was so good, not perfect because the wind was very gusty, but after two month really quiet... yesterday was fantactic !! but today there was no wind and again quiet ..maybe tomorrow i will be back with the kite lesson , i don t know, i hope the wind will be back tomorrow for windsurfing ... here some beautiful pic s of www.elyaquenews.com all pics Tom Brendt

My Time in sylt !!!

i`m in Sylt at the PWA Colgate World Cup 2010, but not to compete , i came only for a week, to be present at the pricegiving ceremony overall of the Women Freestyle 2010 together with Sara and laure, this is my second day and there were no waves and no wind, but it was really great to see again all friends and all competitors here in Sylt, the weather is wonderful , sunshine and not too cold, but i hope the weather changes a little bit and that some waves and wind will arrive so the boys and girls can compete, today i finished my painting to help the people in Pakistan ,that was a very good idea Jan , Jan will put the painting in Ebay, and the money for the sale is 100 % to help the people in Pakistan , some competitors paint every day a little bit and the painting now is beautiful if you are in Sylt and want to see the painting go to the tent of Fanatic and North Sails and you can see .....

The 2010 Edition of the Fanatic Pro Camp, a Windsurflabor event, at the Big Blue Windsurfcenter, a Fanatic "The Boarderscenter", succesfully finished a couple of days ago. The windgod seemed to like the idea of Windsurfclinics and spent us a very nice and windy week. Also the Big Blue Windsurfcenter Crew and Yann and Lynn from Fanatic "The Boarderscenter" worked hard to get another amazing week in Greece. The daily theory, Windsurf and Video Sessions were rounded up by Dinners in the turkish Village of Kos an nice BBQ at the Beach. Lynn Bridle of the FBC Centers this time not only did the promotion work of the Clinics, she also participated and wrote about her experiences in her daily blog at www.fanatic-boarderscenter.com

Fuerte Windsurf Camp

For many years the windsurflabor.de Team moves from Sotavento Beach after the Windsurf Worldcup to the Beach of Costa Calma, to the Fuerte Fun Center for the Windsurf Camps Fuerteventura, also in 2010 the Camp was held at the Beaches of Costa Calma and Matas Blancas. 18 Students were separated in morning and afternoon groups. While the morning group practised their Jibes and waterstarts, stance and speed at Costa Calma, right in front of the Windsurf Center, the Freestyle afternoon group used the Flatwater Beach of Matas Blancas and also Costa Calma for their Airjibe, Loop and New School Freestyle Move attempts. All in all it has been a great Event once again, with very nice people and tons of Motivation plus some very nice conditions especially in the morning at the Costa Calma..

Ohhh God seven and a half years ago, I started with a dream of "being in the top three in the world in freestyle Windsurfing " Thanking God and the support of my sponsors I have achieved second position in the World Championship PWA Lanzarote 2010 .
I'm happy with my position and I share this dream with everyone who supported me during my career ..I also want to thanks, my God , my Angel Tom ;) my family and my friends for motivating me and for supporting me all the time ..
it was really nice to see everyone in Lanzarote and sail with them again ...this year the level was increbible and much more radical, a lot of action, and new moves.. really nice ...
meeting Sara again in the final was great !! Sara has an incredible level and this year was the favorite to win in lanzarote, I'm happy for her success she is the best
In Lanzarote the first day of competition we had no wind but the second day was great wind perfect for 4.7 and 90 liter, making it posible to nearly complete the single elimation , enfortunately the wind stoped for the final and the losers final.The third day the wind did not come until the evining .. we tried to enter the water with 5.0 and 90 liters and Sara with 5.2 and 88 liters, the heat started with seven minutes because the wind was a little shaky, despite making my three maneuvers out but only two at the beach, Sara never had pressure on the sail, soo they cancelled the heat making it fair, they were able to make the semifinals of the guys, so we had to wait for the next day .. the last day of competition, conditions improved and I was in the first heat of the day with Sara .. everything was ready just waiting for the red flag to go into the water ..going out I lost my fin ahhhhhhhhh could not believe it , but this is normal in Lanzarote if you do not see the rocks that happens .... I was quiet nervous could Tom enter the water with my other fin , thank God i could get in to the water ten seconds before the green flag, all I could use was 40% of the area of competition as i did not have time to get upwind and start next to Sara ... but it was a super fun heat with a good spock 540, Shaka, Flaka , which i really enjoyed , toward the beach, switch clewfirst Puneta ,Spock 540 but i crashed the Sleider ... I'm happy with my second position ... in the afternoon they tried to start the double , but could not finish as the wind dropped again ... lanzarote this year has been wonderful for me I love the island and Thank God I was able to sail with no stress only fun ......
I hope we can return next year to compete here in Lanzarote again, congratulations to Sara for her victory and laure for third place and the rest of the girls junko, Xenia, Olga, Nayra, Aurin, Heike for a nice competition ..
Now we are in lanzarote for two more weeks, then traveled to WSL Clinics fuertevetura for 4. 9/ August "Jibe and Style" in Costa Calma ...
The forecast is for strong winds and waves in four days time ..it will be great to have a rest from freestyle and go and play in the waves with my friend .... :)

The Fanatic Pro Clinic El Yaque started with a good windy day !!! the first day of the "Fanatic Pro Clinic " was very good day.. we started yesterday in the morning with some theory and practise on the water !! the wind was very good for 4,5 for the women and , 5,0 5,4 for the men, the conditions were good to improve a lot of jibes, jumps , Loop, Flakas and more .....we finish the day with nice happy our in Oasis bar at the beach and nice Dinner in hotel Atti with very very good food !!!

Hi All !!!

for seven days I can´t sail :( !! this is very hard for me... :( !!! i was short inyury break ...but now is ok.. :) !!!!
the last days was veeery good and today too !! we had strong wind for 3,7 4,2 and 4,5 but only the water a little bit chopi ;) .. hard for training freestyle ;) but This month in El Yaque is Special .. some people at the beach for the Christmas and New Year and the wind is very good for december very strong and every day :) !! I hope these conditions will remain and i can train every day ....

The IMPROVE & MOVE Clinic at the BIG BLUE Windsurf Center is over. We would like to thank all our participants, who came from Russia, Israel, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and the US to join our Clinic at Psalidis in Greece. The Fanatic "The Baorderscenter" once again provided us with the latest North and Fanatic Gear to have a great time on the water. Also thanx to Spiros and his Team from the Big Blue Surf Center for all their Support and the Hotel Okeanis. In the past six days we really had some great times on and off the water and lots of Fun, also during our Dinners in the greek and italian Restaurant and the turkish Village close to KOS City.

Klitmoller & Denmark

The last week i was in Denmark this was my first time there and i love the place for waves!! sometimes i have respect for waves, because my first time with a wave board was in Fuerteventura 6 years ago and was not very good experience for me, i had a big crash and couldn´t sail for five days..
then i try again in Gran Canaria two years after this and wasn´t a good experience with 45 knots and 3 to 4m waves i lost my equipment.... i had no chance in this condition and my board was broken in seven points and i had not a good time in the big waves with no equipment...anyway
In El Yaque i don´t have a good spot for waves, sometimes we have small waves there but with no power and maybe 1,30 m this is nothing for real wave training...
My love discipline is Freestyle but i like waves and some time Slalom too and when i have a chance i visit some spots for waves like Gran Canaria and Holland and this year Denmark- Klitmoller the favorite wavespot for a lot of people !!
The spot is beautiful and perfect to learn waves, there you have a chance for big waves and small waves with power or no power.
In the week we have only three days with wind, the last day was perfect conditions for me! i improve a lot in the waves and had a lot of fun on the water with my friends and with a lot of girls like German Steffi Wahl and the other locals, i love the place because i have a chance for take some waves with no problem, was only little cold for me ;) but this is not a big problem, i have a very good week there with nice fish dinner and BBQ and very nice having sailed in the waves :) !!!
tomorrow morning i go to Greece Kos for the Windsurflabor Clinic " Improve & Move " this is my first time in Greece and i hope we will have a good wind this week and will have a lot of fun on the water with all participants.

8 days with good winds and two nice Spots with Matas Blancas and Costa Calma in the south of Fuerteventura. This was our 2009 Fuerteventura Freestylecamp between the 03rd and 10th of august. It has been a pleasure to teach the morning group for Jibes and Jibe variations and the afternoon Freestyle group. Thanx to all participants for listening through the theory units and for having fun with us on the water !!!

I´m Happyyyyyyyy 3rd at Fuerteventura World Cup and 4th Overall 2009 !! Thank God !!!!!!!!!!!!

I ´m happy with my 3rd place at the Fuerteventura World Cup 2009 and happy too with my 4th overall PWA this is the best result in my carrier and one of my dreams in Sport !! Thanks God !!!!

I like soo much Fuerteventura because it is like my home spot El Yaque, a little bit choppy and gusty but some time perfect for freestyle !!!

After Lanzarote we stayed three weeks before the competition in Fuerteventura for training, every day we had a different condition on the water, strong wind, light wind gusty and choppy and some time small waves, very hard for training freestyle in this condition, but every day is different in your life and when you don´t have a good day, the day after this is much better !

we had two days competition with strong wind and flat water this was perfect condition for freestyle. i had one heat with Junko Nagoshi this year she sailed very good she was second in Lanzarote and before the competition she was training a lot, i sailed my heat with 3,4 full power and i made a good heat with some crash ;) but good to avdance in the next heat with Iballa R. Moreno she sailed also very good too in the first heat what she had before, Iballa made a perfect Toad and flaka and very fast Spock 540 and some more moves for sure i needed my best heat with her !!

Thank God i had a good heat with Iballa and avdanced again in this single i finished 3rd, i was soo happy with this place !!! Sara won the single like always she was special on the water with very nice moves and a good smile :) and Daida finished second she sailed very good too with nice goiter one hand and fast Clew first Spock, spock 540 and Flakas Cana Brava.
in my second day competition the wind was again strong and very very flat and i waited for my heat with Nayra Alonso she was this day very good nice Grubbys and fast Spock but i made too a good heat with her and i finished my double in 3rd position again :) i was soo happy :) !!
the next two days the wind was very light and the last day we tried an expression session but the wind was again light, so we finished the event with one double. this is better than nothing and i´m very happy with my result. i trained a lot for this moment and now i training more for the next dream !! i want to say thank God for this moment i know you are always with me, Thank my husband, my family, my friends for motivate me, and thank a lot to my sponsors for supporting me all the time and all the people for all comments before and after the competition.
i train more and more for the next year for more fun on the water !!!

5th Place at Lanzarote World Cup 2009 !!!

The PWA world cup 2009 in Lanzarote playa las Cucharas is over and i take de 5th place in really hard but good conditions!!!

This year in lanzarote the conditions were really crazy !! we stayed ten days in playa las cucharas and the first five days was no wind for training before the competition we have time for relax and for some fotoshooting at the beautyful and different style in the Lanzarote Island !! the first day of competition the condition was good wind for 4.7 and 5.4 and flat and choppy condition i finish 5th in the single elimination !!!
the second day the wind was really good too with some small wave, i sailed my heat with 4,2 and was really good session i finish 5th in the double elimination!
the third day the waves were more big and very strong gusty wind !!! i take my 3.7 and was too big but 3.4 too !!!! really hard to sail freestyle in this condition but was very fun day !! i like the strong wind but i prefer the choppy water and small waves for freestyle and this day was really big waves!! for guys was a party on the water but for me was a tsunami after me ;) !!!! but it was a good day and i could finish 3rd at the single elimination!!! this was a really good moment again for me !!! in the double i finish 4th !!
the last day the wind was like the first day i take my 4.7 again and finish 5th in this single and double elimination !!!
was a really good competition !! really nice too see again all the girls and the guys on the water and was really good for me take control and concentration for this hard condition, i finish 5th and i´m happy with this result !!!!!
Thanks very much to all the team of the Lanzarote world Cup at las Cucharas for this great Competition!!
and thanks very much to my family, friends and all people are happy with my result !!!! this is my motivation for the next competition !!!

Tarifa Freestyle & Loop Week!

Hi All!!

The next Windsurflabor Clinic in Cooperation with North Sails, Fanatic, ION , Dwarf 8 and Dock11 has just finished in windy Tarifa. After some low wind Poniente days in the beginning we had to deal with some pretty strong Levante days where even the 3,4 was partly way too big.... We look back to a very nice week, with some Tapa nights, BBQ´s, theory and nice sailing at Bolonia....

My Winter Training 2009 in El Yaque, the wind this time in El Yaque was very light in December until March and very good April and May and I can training full time for two month this was not soo bad :) !! I hope next year we will have better weather condition !!!

1th at the Margarita Wild Winds 2009 Freestyle Woman !!!!!

After 7 years break, from 22nd till 30th of May 2009 the Margarita Wildwinds at El Yaque Beach in Venezuela celebrated its revival.
Big names like Kevin Pritchard, Peter Volwater, Gonzalo Costa Hoevel, Taty Frans, Kiri Thode, Antxon Otaegui joined the event to battle against the El Yaque heroes Gollito Estredo, Cheo Diaz, Diony Guadagnino, Ricardo Campello, Colette Guadagnino, Yoli de Brendt and national Slalom Champ Alexis Carache.
9 days contest in front of an almost perfect setup, with most important TV broadcasters present and some special events like the “Kings of the Night” Freestyle Event and helicopter filming.
The competition started with some Slalom races and a Freestyle Expression Session, where Fanatic´s Gollito Estredo and Yoli de Brendt managed to impress the massive crowds at the beach.
After three full days of Slalom the well experienced pro riders were in a solid lead after many races like a long distance race to the island of Coche and back, with Volwater in first place and Costa Hoevel in second, followed by Carache and Freestyle Guru Gollito Estredo. Only Taty Frans manged to put himself into the fight for the podium places and in the end he finished third, with Volwater still in first and Costa Hoevel in second position.
Day four was the first Freestyle day and Gollito Estredo, Yoli de Brendt and Cheo Diaz proofed that this is their home. Yoli de Brendt left no chance to her opponents with a heat packed of Shakas, Punetas, Esliders, Spock variations and Switch Chachoo. Gollito had some more work to do. Especially Kiri Thode and Taty Frans were also on fire. In the final Cheo Diaz (who just had beaten Taty Frans in the semi final) was waiting for him. Diaz started his final with one of his very solid heats, but not enough to match Estredo´s radical style and moves. A solid single elimination round had been sailed and the next windy days should be for Slalom again, before the Freestylers would sail their Double Elimination including the big final. Kiri Thode managed to fight his way back into the final against Estredo and with massive AirBob´s and Burners and a whole variety of double Moves, he really made Estredo´s life very hard. But the actual World Champion equally performed sick double moves together with super dynamic and radical moves like his winning move, the One Hand Airfunnel. Also Yoli de Brendt managed to hold her opponents back and so Gollito and Yoli won the Margrita Wildwinds and so also defended their title as Venezuelan Freestyle Champions from 2008.

Wave Special at FBC Morocco & Moulay 2009

For the first Wave Special of the Fanatic/North Sails/Windsurflabor Event Tour, participants from Switzerland, Poland and Spain came to Moulay in Morocco with one goal: Learn everything about waves and how to ride the mountains of water. With Moulay Bouzerktoun in south Morocco one of the best wavespots along the African coastline has been chosen and we can say, it´s been a really good choice. With the already more famous Essaouira as base and with the Fanatic Boarder Center Magic Fun Afrika as provider of great gear we were ready to start the first Wave Special.

The six days clinic started with some low wind days, but no reason to be disappointed. It was a good chance to get used to Waves with some surfsessions and important theory, so once the wind and swell arrived at the second part of the week, everybody was ready to hit the waves and go for first small Bottom Turns and Cutbacks with big Waveboards NewWave 81 and 91 and the FreeWaves 86 and 77 and sails between 5,0 and 5,6, just perfect for a first day in already somehow powerful waves.

After all preparations in the previous days and excursions through the old and beautiful Medina of Essaouira, the wind finally arrived with full power for the 3,7 and 3,5m² sails in company with some nice 2 – 3 meter waves to spend all day long on the water, with only a short break at low tide when the whole reef just comes out of the water and gave as the opportunity for lunch in the Café Resto at the first floor of the Fanatic Boarders Center.

Morocco indeed was worth the trip and it was just great to have done a Wave Special at this spot. Thanks to Bruno from the Magic Fun Center for all his efforts and great service. We will be back with two Events in Essaouira – Moulay in 2010, promised!

1st place at the Festival del Viento Copa ONA El Yaque !!!

Hi All !!!
24th of 26th from April was in El Yaque the third Venezuelan National Competition Festival del Viento Copa ONA 2009 !! First of the day was the registration of the men, women and a lot of kids, I wanted to try out the Slalom Competition and was a very good experience !!! for sure I will try again !!!
but my priority was Freestyle Competition with seven girls all from Venezuela .
The condition was very good, perfect wind and a lot of people at the beach, and it was very nice again to see all the kids on the water, too.
it has been a very nice day for me with my Ice 4.2 and my Skate 98 i could do the spock 540, shaka, loops , E-slider, Shovit and more and i won!!!! :) this was my first competition together with the World Freestyle Champion Collete Guadagnino and I like it.
Now in El Yaque the wind is perfect every day and i have more time for training a lot for the PWA Tour and preparing to for the next National Competition end of May the " El Yaque Wild Wind "...

The last week was a very nice wind in El Yaque !! perfect for 4.2 , 3,7 !!
buuuut for 5 days I can´t sail :( !! was again very hard for me with nice condicion here in El Yaque !! But now i´m ok. ;)

1st in Freestyle "National 1° Copa El Yaque 2009 "!!

This weekend here in El Yaque we celebrated the " 1° Copa El Yaque 2009 " and I´m happy because I take de 1st place in Freestyle !!!!!!!!!!
The last week I was not soo happy, because in Puerto la Cruz was a competition Slalom and Freestyle and i couldn´t compete was only men competition, but now I have the opportunity here in El Yaque !!!

yesterday the competition started with kids competition, this was a very good moment with a lots of kids on the water with 6, 7 and 9 year old, this was very good moment see the future stars from El Yaque in action on the water !!, then the competition continued with Slalom men and women, I wanted try in Slalom woman, but this week I have a little problem with my muscles and have had a therapy and one day relax, but was very hard for me to compete in Slalom and freestyle too, and i decided to compete only in freestyle and not slalom !
the freestyle competition started at 3.00pm with men and finally the first round with women, the wind was very gusty but was a very nice 6 minute heat on the water with all the girls!!!!

Now I´m waiting for the next competition end of April !!!

Hi all !!

This week in El Yaque was veeery good !! we had some waves and now strong wind for 4,2 but only the water a little bit chopi ;) but this is El Yaque some time very hard for training freestyle ;) but we have one second place, The Lagoon!! this place is very flat water and beautiful place whit mangroves and a lot gaviot and pelican !! we had this week very nice foto and video session there and for sure we bill back there in the next days !!!
